Inlays and Onlays are restorations used when over half the tooth’s biting surface is damaged. An inlay is similar to a filling, as it will be used on the inside of the cusp tips of the tooth. An onlay is a more substantial version of the inlay, as it extends out over one or more cusps of the tooth.
